My Lock Down Diary

We’ve found this great resource created in New Zealand by and have partnered with them to bring it to you for free!

So you’re stuck at home on lockdown from Covid-19? Bummer. Well let’s make the most of it with some isolation appreciation and your own lockdown diary.

1. Download and print at home.
2. Keep a record of what went on with 4 weeks of activities and daily prompts.
3. Staple together when finished and save as a memento to your future self.

Lesson plan

Hiya. I’m Stephen McCarthy – more of a scribbler then an artist and I live in Christchurch, New Zealand. I run a design studio McCarthy and favourite band is currently Sleaford Mods.

So when this Covid thing hit New Zealand and we went into lockdown for 4 weeks, I thought I should put better use to the iPad than just binging on Tiger King on Netflix. The Lockdown Diary aims to help give kids a chance to talk through their eyes. There’s some prompts and activities but loads of space for kids to write and draw how they’re doing and how they’re feeling.

Think of it as a memento to the future so one day in 20 years, they’ll find it hidden in an old cupboard and remember how strong and resilient they were through this. It’s also a good conversation starter, and can hopefully help give you as a parent or caregiver a small insight into your young ones mind and help start a chat about things.

Theres 4 weeks worth of work, 32 pages but if we are in lockdown for longer here – I’ll get doodling some more and add to the download.

The diary is free but if you feel like donating a little something – nice one! It will help me expand the idea and cover some costs and time. Please click on the link

Thanks Stephen.
